We interface to a variety of NVMe-oF Physical Fabric Ports eliminating unnecessary protocol translations (e.g. SCSI) while enabling NVMe semantics for low-latency and high IOPS across a range of topologies including iSCSI, TCP, RoCE™, and Infiniband™.

ZERO-SPACE SNAPSHOTS

Many logical copies can be made of any volume and served out to different application servers individually. These copies are consistent, space-efficient and writeable. Create instantly without physical data copy activities occurring; blocks are then written as the copy is modified over time.
Thin Provisioning

THIN PROVISIONING

Volumes are logical NVMe disks and used as a regular block device. The volume is thin provisioned from the media group. The user can be presented with a 10 TB volume, yet space will only be allocated as-needed to maximize utilization. Volumes can range from under one TB to 100 TB and can be re-assigned or shared between hosts as needed.
RAID 3

RAID-6 ERASURE CODING

The array organizes NVMe SSDs into 4 zones of 18 drives each. Pavilion implements Dual-Parity RAID within a zone, resulting in a 16+2 RAID group. This means that the overhead for RAID is only 12%.

SWARM RECOVERY

In the event of a drive failure, multiple controllers swarm the replacement drive in parallel to ensure fast recovery.  A 12+ TB SSD can be recovered in well under an hour, and a 2TB drive in less than 5 minutes.

Separate RAID zones inside a single Pavilion system allow for tiering workloads within a single chassis. Use 3D XPoint™ for the highest performance workloads, deploy high-capacity NVMe for backups and capacity and consider high endurance drives for a dedicated ELT zone.

A full-featured GUI and CLI deliver deep insight into performance metrics at the volume/application, controller, port, or system level.  With the REST API, we easily integrate with management and orchestration products including SNMP, Redfish™ and Swordfish™.

It also includes a proactive telemetrics subsystem that reports issues to Pavilion’s cloud-based support portal with plug-and-play support for controllers and drives to be powered down, hot-removed, or inserted at any time.
